Rob Arnold, Lead Resilience and Decarbonisation Specialist, EDHEC Climate Institute

Rob Arnold, PhD is Lead Resilience and Decarbonisation Specialist at EDHEC Climate Institute. As an energy and environment specialist with extensive experience across industry, business and international organisations, over two decades, he advised the UK government, including the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the Department of Energy and Climate Change, and the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs on energy and climate policy. He led cross-disciplinary teams in technical analysis, business strategy, and sustainability assessment of new technology and measures to decarbonise energy, infrastructure, industry, transport and land use. He also co-chaired a multinational expert team for a strand of the EU’s Strategic Energy Technology Plan and helped establish the Industrial Energy Transformation Fund for industry-focused sustainable decarbonisation projects.

Rob holds a PhD in energy and environment from Imperial College London, an MSc in environmental technology from Imperial College London, a BSc (Hons.) in chemistry from the University of Manchester. He is also a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
