BNP Paribas, Euronext and Scientific Portfolio Launch Climate Resilience Index

EDHEC Climate Institute is proud to have contributed to the launch of the Climate Resilience Index alongside BNP Paribas CIB, Euronext and Scientific Portfolio, an EDHEC Venture.

The initiative originated from discussions initiated with BNP Paribas in Nice last year, which quickly evolved into a strong alignment around a shared ambition: developing innovative equity index solutions integrating physical climate risk resilience into investment strategies.

Two entities from the EDHEC ecosystem played a central role in the project:

• Scientific Portfolio, specialized in the design of equity investment strategies integrating climate objectives and constraints;
• EDHEC Climate Institute, an interdisciplinary applied research center dedicated to climate finance and climate-related challenges.

Together, the teams collaborated on the development of rigorous methodologies designed to incorporate physical climate risk considerations into equity portfolio construction.

The resulting index combines transition-related considerations, ESG criteria and climate resilience metrics to help orient investments toward more resilient companies while remaining aligned with market requirements.

The index is now live, with initial assets under management supported by BNP Paribas Wealth Management, this initiative represents an important step toward the development of innovative climate resilience and adaptation investment solutions.
