Frédéric Ducoulombier heads the Climate Regulation and Policies programme at EDHEC Climate Institute, where his work explores how normative forces influence the integration of climate risks and impacts, as well as transition and adaptation efforts. He also serves on the Strategic Orientation Committee of Scientific Climate Ratings and is a member of the ClimaTech Review Committee. Previously, as founding director of EDHEC Business School’s climate finance research institute, he helped steer the alignment of climate-economics modelling with asset pricing and the development of probabilistic climate scenarios. Before that, as ESG Director at Scientific Beta (SGX Group), he defined the firm’s sustainability integration framework and led product design and institutional negotiations that resulted in over EUR 10 billion in assets tracking indices reflecting sustainability objectives or constraints. He also designed thematic indices for ETFs and authored the blueprints for the firm’s award-winning climate impact-consistent indices. Earlier, he introduced the firm’s first dynamic volatility strategy and developed a reconciliation of competing approaches to factor portfolio construction. Over more than 25 years in financial regulation and innovation, he has also authored academic and industry publications, contributed to international regulatory consultations, and advised financial supervisors and net-zero coalitions through expert committee roles.
