Integration of Physical Risks in Corporate Strategies

EDHEC Climate Institute will participate in Crédit Agricole CIB’s digital conference Climate Adaptation: From Physical Risks to Adaptation Finance, which will bring together policymakers, investors, corporates and financial institutions to discuss the growing economic and financial implications of climate-related physical risks. The conference will explore the role of adaptation in building resilience across economies, infrastructure assets and businesses, while examining the investment opportunities and financing challenges associated with an increasingly climate-exposed world.

As part of Panel #3, Integration of Physical Risks in Corporate Strategies, Nicolas Schneider, Senior Research Engineer at EDHEC Climate Institute, will share insights from EDHEC’s research on the economic and financial implications of physical climate risks. The discussion will explore why adaptation is becoming an increasingly important component of corporate and investment decision-making, how climate risk can be assessed across sectors and regions, and how adaptation needs can be translated into financing and investment opportunities. Nicolas will also address the growing role of physical climate risk in asset valuation and capital allocation, examining the extent to which climate risk is already being priced by financial markets and the methodological challenges that remain.
