EDHEC Climate Institute will participate in ChangeNOW 2026, the international summit bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, researchers, and innovators working on solutions for the ecological and social transition.

Held in Paris, ChangeNOW convenes global leaders and organisations committed to accelerating the deployment of concrete solutions addressing climate change and environmental challenges.

During the summit, EDHEC Climate Institute will contribute to several discussions and workshops, sharing research insights on climate risk, sustainable finance, and strategies to strengthen resilience to climate-related hazards.

Participation in the “Coastguard Cities” Workshop: Tackling Coastal & Urban Flooding Together

On March 30, Camille Angué, Co-Director at EDHEC Climate Institute, will participate in the workshop “Coastguard Cities: Tackling Coastal & Urban Flooding Together.”

Hosted by Waves of Change in partnership with Sponge Collaborative, Floodframe, EDHEC Climate Institute, and the AXA Foundation for Human Progress, the session will bring together cities, experts, and innovators to address the growing risks and economic costs associated with coastal and urban flooding.

The discussion will highlight innovations, collaborative strategies, and financial tools that can support more resilient coastal cities and help protect communities and infrastructure from climate-driven flooding.

Roundtable: Adaptation & The Cost of Inaction

Scientific Climate Ratings, a venture emerging from EDHEC’s climate finance research ecosystem, will also contribute to the roundtable “Adaptation & The Cost of Inaction,” which will explore the social and economic consequences of failing to adapt to climate change.

Rémy Estran-Fraioli, CEO of Scientific Climate Ratings, will share insights on how forward-looking climate risk analysis can support better financial decision-making and help integrate climate risks into long-term investment strategies.

Scientific Climate Ratings develops climate risk ratings that quantify the financial materiality of both transition and physical climate risks for infrastructure companies and investors, helping to integrate climate considerations into long-term investment strategies.

Bringing together experts from finance, corporate sustainability, climate research, and public policy, the session will examine how stronger adaptation strategies can help build a more resilient future for economies, communities, and ecosystems.

Speaker

  • Rémy Estran-Fraioli, CEO, Scientific Climate Ratings (an EDHEC Venture)

Other speakers include representatives from AXA, Sanofi, and Climate Resilience for All.

EDHEC Climate Institute Workshop: Coastal Resilience: From Science to Solutions & Financing

EDHEC Climate Institute will also host the workshop “Coastal Resilience: From Science to Solutions & Financing.”

Coastal areas concentrate major economic, social, and environmental assets, while being increasingly exposed to sea-level rise, extreme weather events, and coastal erosion. Strengthening their resilience requires better risk measurement, practical adaptation solutions, and appropriate financing frameworks.

This interactive session will bring together researchers, financial institutions, public actors, and innovators to explore how scientific risk assessment, nature-based solutions, and financial tools can support the adaptation of coastal territories and infrastructure.

Key topics will include:

  • Quantifying climate-related physical risks for coastal infrastructure and economic assets, including methodologies to assess exposure and financial impacts.

  • Nature-based and hybrid solutions to strengthen coastal protection and adaptation strategies.

  • Innovative financing mechanisms and investment frameworks to support resilient coastal infrastructure.

  • The role of public and private financial institutions in mobilising capital for coastal resilience.

The workshop will feature contributions from EDHEC Climate Institute, Waves of Change, and representatives from the financial sector and international institutions, providing practical perspectives on financing and implementing coastal resilience initiatives.
