Lionel Melin, Associate Researcher, EDHEC-Risk Climate Impact Institute

Lionel Melin, PhD, is Associate Researcher at EDHEC Climate Institute. He leads the “Climate Scenarios” research team, whose work focuses on translating the physics of climate change into probabilised macroeconomic outcomes with geo-sectoral granularity to determine their impact on asset prices. He is the CEO of MacroLucid Research, an independent financial economic consulting firm. Previously, he served as a senior cross-asset strategist for Société Générale Lyxor Asset Management, following his role as an emerging markets economist and fixed-income strategist for Deutsche Bank. Lionel has also conducted research projects with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, the International Monetary Fund, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and BNP Paribas. He holds a PhD in economics from the University of Chicago and a Master’s degree in statistics from ENSAE Paris. He has held lectureships at the University of Chicago and has co-authored numerous academic papers published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Environmental and Resource Economics, and The Journal of Portfolio Management.
